We had the privilege to capture Bobbi & Gurpreet’s gorgeous wedding on April 6, 2012. Here is their beautiful love story.
Bobbi and Gip met through mutual friends 8 years ago when they were both in Whistler for May long weekend. Bobbi was a quiet, shy, small town girl and Gip was an outgoing guy who grew up in a much larger city.
They met again a few months later when Bobbi moved to Surrey to complete her education and become a Dental Hygienist. They grew to become very close friends and one day Gip made it clear to Bobbi that he would like to be more than just friends.
Bobbi, who is very shy by nature was hesitant and insisted they just remain friends. However, Gips persistence and charming personality won Bobbi over in the end. After dating for a few years, they both were ready to take the next step. Bobbi had finished school and Gip had started his career. They had talked about marriage and starting to build their lives together. Their parents met and things started to become more serious.
One day, Gip picked Bobbi up from work and told her he had to meet a client in Whistler. On their drive they reminisced about the time they first met in Whistler almost a decade ago. Gip drove to the same spot where they first met and told Bobbi he’d like her to come out and meet the client as well. When she got out he got down on one knee and proposed! He also had a few photographers hiding in the bushes to capture the moment on camera. Bobbi was completely surprised and speechless, all she could do was giggle the entire time he was telling her how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Bobbi describes the moment as a blur of excitement and the most romantic moment of her life. She of course said yes.
Gip has helped Bobbi become more outgoing and introduced her to many new things, Bobbi in turn has helped Gip focus on his career and become more ambitious, they are both happier and more well-rounded people since finding each other. Although from different worlds with very different personalities they seemed to balance each other out perfectly.
